Hit After Hit was started in 1993. The owner and leader at Hit After Hit is Lem Pilkinton.  Lem was drafted in 1984 by the Baltimore Orioles as a catcher and first baseman. In 1986, the Boston Red Sox drafted Lem out of Columbia State Community College. He played in the Red Sox, Blue Jays and Mariners organizations and was a 2-time minor league all-star. Lem also coached with the Mariners organization for 2 years. In 1992 he help lead the Bellingham Mariners to the Northwest League championship.  He started giving lessons during the winter time while he was still playing and coaching in the minor leagues and opened Hit After Hit in November of 1993.

Orlando Thomas has been assisting Lem from the begining. Orlando is a former minor league player and coach with the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1994 he helped coach the New Jersey Cardinals to the NY-Penn League championship.  He has been teaching lessons at Hit After Hit since 1993. Many of his students have gone on to play college baseball.

Lem and Orlando started coaching together in 1997. Their 16-year-old team went to the CABA World Series in 1999 and took their 17-year-old team to the same tournament in 2000.  The Hit After Hit 17 and 18-year-old team was the CABA World Series runner up in 2001. In 2005, they finally achieved their ultimate goal and won the CABA World Series.

Beginning in 2000 we began adding younger teams and adding some of the area's best coaches to our staff.  In 2004 the Hit After Hit 12 and under team won the 96 team Cooperstown tournament. They repeated as champions again in 2005. That same team won the BPA World Series in 2006. In 2007 the finished runner-up in the 14 and under AAU World Series. In 2008 they won the Sandlott World Series here in Nashville.

All of our coaches have a great deal of experience training young men interested in improving their baseball skills. We are committed to providing an instructive and fun environment for each of our teams. We want to see each player in our programs improve in every skill and we will encourage and provide athletes with a safe facility so they can work to improve their performance on the field.
